How Kigezi Community School made my dream come true!

The existence of Kigezi Community School has healed the souls of many people and among those souls, mine is also there.

When I was young I used to dream of becoming a doctor but whenever I would see my unpromising family I would try to delete my dream. I was attending a government school where the director was paying for my school and had reached in P.4 class then I had the good news resurrecting in our community that Kigezi Community School would be established, Director came to our school and told us that new idea/project is starting the school. He gathered all the orphans he was paying for and every child was happy to know that, the project was starting the school.  The school started the following week,  we had experienced teachers for all subjects for all classes and this made me like the school more.

We started when getting lunch was a hustle for ourselves but the school would provide breakfast for all pupils. School fees were also provided. Later on, we started receiving lunch from school where I started enjoying the school to the fullest. Then the Directors of Kigezi Community School would communicate to us that if we worked, read hard, and passed examinations, we would get sponsorships.

Then I tried my primary seven and waited for the results

When they came I had passed and a few days later, The director came and announced that am among the students to go for bursary, Therefore they requested me to prepare myself for secondary school. My heart was filled with joy. The time came and went to the school when some of us pupils Joined Christ The King Town View SSS Kabale and school fees would be paid in time, we would not be denied any services and Directors would still come to check on us bringing the messages they would get from our Sponsors. from where we saw them as our parents. They moved with us until we finished our O’ level. But after O’ level I didn’t know hope for any further studies. When the results came I received a call from the Kigezi director asking if I wanted to join A’ level or institution. When it entered my ears it was As if I was dreaming. I chose to join a medical institution and at the same time, I chose the course. For what God does, they chose for me Ishaka Adventist School of Allied Health Sciences the best lab school in western Uganda then I  went for the interview picked picked the admission. I started schooling there where the school fees would be paid on time, and all services received in communication with me. It means they didn’t leave me alone but they would check on me. I finished my certificate in medical lab technology in December 2023.

Kigezi Community School has made me. Now wait for the Medical document.

I still have a dream to upgrade for further studies but the Directors are still unable to provide the fees due to many responsibilities. I believe and I have hopes that my dream will be fully achieved.

I thank the entire Kigezi Community project at large for bringing me all this far. You have made my life have a meaningful story to tell the next generation.

Thank you for being beside me always.
