On Egidius and Julius strategic thinking is just an understatement. It has been gradual resilience, prayers, dedication and commitment in the way the two handle the affairs at KOP (Kigezi Orphans Project). I have over the years referred to them as “destiny” because their pulses and heart beats are conjoined. They pursue, love, hate and loathe at par. With similar passions and goals their pursuit for the same has been relentless.
My first interactions with them were comic because as I saved their contacts, I interchanged their telephone numbers, but whenever I dialed in need of Julius and Egidius picked, he solved my problem and the reverse is true. I have since left the numbers unchanged. The passion and pursuit of their goals demystifies the complacency that is common in our class and generation.
Personally I have learnt a lot from KOP and the brains behind it. That with little, one can still create impact. That with reliance, society can change. That self-investment is the best investment and that when you win in the mind, you win in reality. I have since come to understand that when one thinks big, believe big and act big, the result will be big. The actors at KOP have anchored their unique tenets to a solid Christian stand and God has not disappointed. They have not relented to the whims of our feeble society and to them, impossible is nothing.
It is my well-considered opinion that ahead of KOP lays a challenge. A challenge of continuity, of sustainability of growth, of success management and challenges of vagaries associated with third world economies in which they (KOP) are resident. To confront and mitigate these predicaments, the directors need the will of God and the mercy of men and women of gratitude.
I thence call upon people of valor to appreciate KOP efforts and reinforce their agenda. To reinvigorate theirs power and will. To push their agendas which are in tandem with societal needs.
